Distractions

Distractions Ive spent the past week or so running about in flip-flops, taking advantage of the sunny, 55 degree weather to catch up on all the vitamin D I failed to absorb in wintry days past. In celebration of this meteorological grace, my writing professor agreed to move the location of todays class from the obscure whereabouts of Building 1 to the calm expanse of Killian Court. It was due to this decision that I spent an hour and a half of this afternoon utterly distracted. As my classmates read their stories out loud, I found my attention drifting away from their words and towards the glinting of the Charles to my left, the elegant pillars supporting MITs dome to my right, and the pleasant breeze that blew all around me, harassing my already chaotic collection of curls. I figure that with decisions coming your way in four days and an orgo test coming my way in a week, itd be better if you guys were distracted in my stead. It is with this notion in mind that I present you with the following means to prevent the insanity inherent in counting down the hours, minutes, and seconds to 3/14 at 1:59 pm: 1) xkcd 2) sporcle 3) ImprovEverywheres many accomplishments 4) hulu 5) Potter Puppet Pals! How to Leverage Scholarship Money

Going to business school can be an expensive affair. Price tags for a top two-year full time programs can soar over $200,000 dollars, which for most applicants is more than they have socked away in their piggy bank. There are many ways to pay for your graduate business school education and the one that excites applicants the most is scholarship money! Business school is an expensive proposition and if a program offers scholarship money as part of their financial package, it opens up a ton of financial flexibility for applicants. Many programs use scholarship money as a â€Å"carrot† to entice high potential and strongly desired candidates to their school. It is always good to be wanted by a program but sometimes these scholarship offers come from less desired programs, presenting difficult decisions when it comes to making the ultimate choice of where to matriculate. Sometimes the scholarship offers come from desired programs as well, but even with this good fortune, situations can still arise that create difficult decisions between programs. If you have received multiple offers from MBA programs with imbalanced financial support there are a few different approaches you can take: Do Nothing This is the approach many applicants take. This is my least favorite and the least effective approach. You have nothing to lose by politely and respectfully communicating other offers and your desire for additional support. If you never mention it that is the best way to forego any potential leverage you may have. Reach Out via Email This is the next step in being proactive about leveraging your scholarship offer. Getting a school to change their mind about scholarship money is not easy, but it must start with some dialogue. The key here is being respectful and offering up some information about your other admits and associated scholarship funding. Reaching out to the right decision maker can also improve your odds of success here. Call or Meet in Person This is my favorite approach to leveraging your scholarship offer. The business school application process is very personal for admissions. So, if you can connect with them on a personal basis, whether on the phone or in person, it can only help your chances of them offering additional scholarship support. I think it is also important to really think through how important the scholarship money is to your ultimate decision making process. Many schools will negotiate the scholarship offer with the expectation that you will accept, so make sure you enter into these conversations being open and honest. Applying to business school? Analysis Of Homer s The Iliad - 887 Words

In Homer’s the Iliad there are two types of culture which are shame and honor. The Greeks rank great significance on personal honor. Why is that? The reason being is that to them honor means the ability to fight and be triumphant on the battle field. There are many ways honor is obtained to the Greeks, another way to prove your honor is to reveal athletic abilities. Meanwhile, the shame culture has a different concept to the Greeks. Shame meant to have good morals towards others and it is a more logical way of living. In the ancient Greek era a majority of people were associated with the honor culture compare to the shame culture. The honor culture was more praised back then and the reason being is that everyone wanted to feel in control and powerful in a certain way. Homer believes that one culture is better than the other and the reason being is that Homer thinks that honor drives anger, anger drives war, which will revitalize the cycle back to greater honor. The meaning of shame and honor to the ancient Greeks is completely different in today’s society. I will be discussing the difference between shame and honor and the Greeks warriors that belong in those categories. Black Power, the Nation of Islam, and the Southern Christian Leadership conference were just some of the groups that tried to end segregation and promote the African American race. Although these groups did help end it, it still exists in today’s world and many studies have been done to prove it in the past couple of years. Many people across the world still judge based on color, a recent study showed that when a European American is conversing with an African American they will typically cross their arms or†¦show more content†¦There are historical colleges out there that are predominantly African American, they do this because before there wasn’t colleges available to them in the 1900‘s. President Barack Obama performed a speec h in 2008 while running for president , the speech addressed his race and the recent remarks made about him being African American. President Obama stated that race was an issue during the campaign and they have either said that he was too black, or not black enough to be president. So why did it take so long to get someone of another race into office, African Americans are just as smart as European Americans and they have just as much capability, President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize. This could also be linked to the long history of racial discrimination that still lingers in America today. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; or always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what vi rtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, racefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. I want my hands to have the tang of wood; Spruce, cedar, cypress. I want to draw a line on a board with a flat pencil, And then saw along that line, With the sweet-smelling sawdust piling up in a yellow heap at my feet. That is the life I want to be! Heigh-ho! Sleet and shift for the slippery climb, How they stop a fire, or tinker a tire – and pull into town on time. The city takes, and it goes its way, and the great dark hulks reload, While mechanics grease; and test, and check, to make them safe for the road; Then the crates are stacked and the boxes packed and the padding placed – and then The tailboards slam, and the trailers ram, and the great trucks roll again! Short Declamation: Man Upon The Cross Upon the cross against the hills of the night They nailed the man, and while they speared his breast they made him drink the bile. He bore the pains alone, alone But in the hallowed darkness saw Sweet Mary’s face upturned in grief below. Tears filmed her eyes, but love chastened the tragic beauty of her face which neither death nor sorrow could erase. He saw and feebly in the silence strove to speak a few remembered words: but now the whispers left his lips like tender birds. His arms were cold and death was in his eyes; the streams of blood were dry upon the whiteness of his limbs. His breath was like a wounded bird wanting to stay, to stay, bereft now Mary rose and treasuring his sorrow, left. Declamation â€Å"Their Only Son† You’re a hell of a cow-man, you are! They are crimsoned with the blood of a man I have just killed. I have come here today to confess. I have committed murder, deliberate, premeditated murder. I h ave killed a man in cold blood. That man is my master. I am here not to ask for pity but for justice. Simple, elementary justice. I am a tenant†¦ My father was a tenant before me and so was his father before him. This misery is my inheritance and perhaps this will be my legacy to my children. I have labored on a patch of land not mine. But I have learned to love that land, for it is the only thing that lies between me and complete destitution. It is the only world that I have learned to cherish. And somewhere on that land I have managed to build what is now the dilapidated nipa shack that has been home to me. I have but a few world possessions, mostly rags. My debts are heavy. They are sum total of my ignorance and the inspired arithmetic of my master, which I do not understand. I labor like a slave and out of the fruits of that labor I get but a mere pittance for a share. And I have to stretch that mere pittance to keep myself and my family alive. My poverty has reduced me to the bare necessities of life. And the constant fear of rejection from the land has made me totally subservient to my master. You tell me that under the constitution, I am a free man-free to do what I believe is just, free to do what I think is right, and free to worship God according to the dictate of my conscience. But I do not understand the meaning of all these for I have never known freedom. I have always obeyed the wishes of my master out of fear. I have always regarded myself as no better than a slave to the man who owns the land on which I live. I do not ask you to forgive me nor to mitigate my crime. I have taken the law into my own hands, and I must pay for it in atonement. But kill this system. Kill this system and you kill despotism. Kill this system and you kill slavery. Kill this despotism and you set the human soul to liberty and freedom. Kill this slavery and you release the human spirit into happiness and contentment. For the cause of human liberty, of human happiness and contentment, thousands and even millions have died and will continue to die. Mine is only one life. Take me if you must but let it be a sacrifice to the cause which countless others have been given before and will be given again and again, until the oppressive economic system has completely perished, until the sons of toil have been liberated from enslavement, and until man has been fully restored to decency and self respect. You tell me of the right to life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness. But I have known no rights, only obligations; I have known no happiness; only despair in the encumbered existence that has always been my lot. My dear friend, I am a peace-loving citizen. I have nothing but love for my fellowmen. And yet, why did I kill this man? It is because he was the symbol of an economic system which has made him and me what we are: He, a master, and I, a slave. Out of a deliberate design I killed him because I could no longer stand this life of constant fear and being a servant. I could no longer suffer the thought of being perpetually a slave. I committed the murder as an abject lesson. I want to blow that spelled the death of my master to be a death blow to the institution of the economic slavery which shamelessly exists in the bright sunlight of freedom that is guaranteed by the constitution to every man. My dear friend: I do anguish from the weak and helpless and has laid upon the back of the ignorant labor burdens that are too heavy to be borne, I demand death! To this callous system of exploitation that has tightened the fetters of perpetual bondage in the hands of thousands, and has killed the spirit of freedom in the hearts of men, I demand death. To this oppression that has denied liberty to the free and unbounded children of God, I DEMAND DEATH! How to cite Classified, Essay examples

Business Statistics Research Method

Question: Write a research report on the topic Does employee engagement influence the transfer of employee training?. Answer: Introduction (Research Topic): In todays world, employee engagement in an organization is the approach to constitute relationship between an enterprise and its employees. It is evident that an organization that has escalated employee engagement outperforms the organizations that have less employee engagement (Menguc et al. 2013). Employee engagement can be assessed by level of involvement, commitment and productivity of the employees. It has been identified that employee engagement is necessary for business. In the modern world, economy is a big factor and to obtain financial goals a company has to motivate the employees to increase their productivity (Anitha 2014). In this context, the researcher analyses the importance of employee engagement and presents a literature review with the support of different theoretical interpretation. The researcher implements different techniques and frameworks to investigate the research procedure. The investigator furnishes the ethical checklist and Gantt chart in order to support the research. Literature review: As discussed by, employee engagement influences the factors like involvement, commitment and productivity. It has been identified that employee engagement depends on the organization, as employee engagement is prominent in places where there is job satisfaction. Welch (2015) that employee engagement plays a significant role in organization argues it. The organization that has higher employee engagement level has greater productivity level. Past researches have scrutinized the concept and have found that workforce with high performance level is necessary for survival and growth of an organization. As opined by Downey et al. 2015, in order to gain competitive advantage organization needs to establish metrics and applications to effectively quantify and enhance the impact of initiatives of their engagement on overall corporate performance. Past surveys has depicted that many companies are finding it challenging to scale employee engagement and its impression on the financial state of the company (Shuck and Reio 2014). According to Wang and Hsieh (2013), in a workplace people express themselves cognitively, physically and most importantly emotionally during the communicating. The employees try to connect themselves psychologically with their co-workers so that they can intensify their level of involvement. As per Shuck and Herd (2012), satisfaction engagement approach is the technique through which job satisfaction is achieved from high engagement level. As discussed by Kruse (2012), engaging people is becoming the most well known differentiator in corporate world. Different survey has provided benchmarks and tools to assist the employee parameter of engagement. Abraham (2012) has argued that the process of employee engagement does not provide detailed report on work related matters force the employees to increase their commitment. There are different ways to evaluate how people engage in organization. Research can be progressed through three phases. Awareness, connection, commitment and action are the three ways through which employee engagement can be analyzed. It has been seen that there are very limited survey about employee engagement (Shuck et al. 2016). There have been many arguments revolving employee engagement. However, researchers have provided data and perspective on the importance of employee engagement in organization. The researchers use various techniques in order to assess the feasibility of the cause. Many researchers have presented their views on this context but very few has been able to meet the desired result. This happened because employee engagement has come into focus most recently. Researchers have found that the organizations are adopting this culture in order to increase the performance capacity of the organization. Past research materials indicates that employee engagement has proved to be a beneficial tool for the institutions. In order to gain more knowledge about the topic the researcher is going to collect available data and evaluate it in order to provide insightful outcome on the topic. It is important understand that employee engagement increases the productivity of the organization. Jenkins and Delbridge 2013 argue that organization utilizes techniques in order to project more significance on employee engagement in an organization. Figure 1: Phases of Employee Engagement Research questions for the identified problem or opportunity: The researcher develops questions while researching to investigate about the research topic of employee engagement systematically. The questions that to be asked before initiating the research is as follows: How employee engagement assists organizations towards success? What are the components that influence the relation between employees? Is training important to increase organizational performance? What are the positive and negative impacts that employee engagement has on an organizational environment? Why is employee engagement essential for an organization? What roles manager and corporate heads play in developing employee engagement in an organization? 4. Appropriate research methodologies and techniques to use for the research project Research methodology scrutinizes systematic and theoretical application of the methods in the field of study. Here researcher is using different techniques to gather data and information about employment engagement in the organization. It is the theoretical inspection of the set of methods and fundamentals related to a stretch of knowledge (Taylor, Bogdan and DeVault 2015). The research methodology thoroughly depends on the nature of the researcher. The researcher implements qualitative and quantitative researching tools to analyze the importance of employee engagement in an organization. As per Flick (2015), Primary research is conducted to collect the original data that are already present in the market. It is often seen that the researcher has gained some perspective into the matter by evaluating the secondary data. Secondary research is revitalizing of the existing data or presentation of summary or collation. There are various purpose that indicates the approach that researcher need to determine in order to conduct the research. The researcher is going to evaluate the topic with exploratory, constructive and empirical research. The explanatory research specifies developing and producing of innovative and better ideas so that it can support the purpose (Panneerselvam 2014). Constructive research is the kind of research that the technical professionals provide to seek solution to a persistent problem. Here the researcher can use exploratory research because it is the most effective way to evaluate the nature of the research. Most of the time researcher uses exploratory research method so that they can analyze the subject matter by using facts and information that already exists. Numerical analysis and data collection is the integral part of the research methodology. Empirical research can be very effective to assess the data that are associated with the real life (Billig and Waterman 2014). Observation is the significant part of this kind of research. In this case, researcher observes incidents and specific events related to the real life. Accumulation of primary and secondary data for the commencement the research is very essential. With the help of exploratory research, the researcher can collect primary and secondary data. Researcher can initiate their research in two ways- inductive and deductive. Through inductive approach, the researcher has to provide data based on strong evidence for the probable outcome. According to Gast and Ledford (2014), Inductive argument provides logical support to the research and supplies probable instances. Here the researcher chooses inductive research method that comprises of three steps observation, pattern and thesis. The researcher chooses inductive approach so that the researcher can first analyze, observe, then detect the pattern, and then develop effective theory on the general basis. According to Pickard (2012), researcher should thoroughly analyze the data and information, then understand the pattern, and finally provide overview on the research. Inductive research is the most successful research methodology because the hypothesis is structured on the current knowledge. Here the researcher selects inductive approach, as the researcher has to observe particular set of experiences that are already present and construct general set of theories. Figure 2: Research Methodology 5) A project plan using a Gantt Chart: Calculation is referred to the excel sheet 6) Description of the research process The researcher implements the research in a systematic method. At the beginning stage, the researcher focuses on gathering the data and information for the analysis. The researcher scrutinizes the research area in details. In the next stage, the researcher determines the research aim and objectives and the questions that has to be asked in order to commence the investigation on the research topic in a systematic way (Taylor, Bogdan and DeVault 2015). The objectives of the research, guide the researcher to develop the questions that is essential to execute the research efficaciously. Then in the third stage, the researcher prosecutes the literature review with the help of the theoretical characteristics. The researcher involves literature review and accentuates the crucial issues of employee engagement. In the fourth stage of the research, the researcher executes the data collection procedure. While accumulating data the researcher collects valid and relevant data on employee engagement (Buckley and Waring 2013). The researcher then gathers primary data from the first hand experience. Primary data is the statistics that the researcher accumulates specifically crafted for the requirement of the research. The researcher inspects the data after accumulating from various sources including the respondents and contributor. The researcher scrutinizes the data and information thoroughly. According to Anitha (2014), At the final stage of the researcher fulfills the research in a methodical and coherent manner. However, the conclusion of the research is fully dependent on the achievement of research goals and objectives. The aim of the research is to collect the data and efficiently analyze the factors and derive a fruitful consequence. Literature review 7) Description of data collection and analysis methods Data collection is the procedure through which both the primary and secondary data of the research is evaluated. Inaccurate collection of the data can influence the procedure of the study and ultimately lead the researcher to the invalid outcomes (Sabatier and Weible 2014). Data collection is the methodology through which measuring and analyzing of information takes place. The researcher always collects data in systematic fashion so that one can come up with relevant questions. Based on those questions the researcher evaluates the outcome of the research. As per Holloway and Wheeler (2013), formal collection of data is necessary because it helps the researcher gather data that are defined and meticulous. First, the researcher surveys the field and indulges the individual into interview. The researcher scrutinizes different group of people for collecting data on the topic of employee engagement. The researcher chooses qualitative and quantitative method to structure the data. They pro duce outcome that can be easily assessed. Qualitative and quantitative data are assessed in this stage. It plays a significant role in evaluating the information and data of different organization (Lewis 2015). Moreover, qualitative method is used to evaluate the existing process and supply results that serve innovative perspective to the people. Testing hypothesis extracted from the thesis is important. Participants in quantitative research are randomly allocated to various treatments. According to Shields et al. (2016), Quantitative data is the statistical manipulation that expresses a quantity and measurement of certain unit. The researcher involves respondent and participants structured on the probability sample technique. Probability sample technique assists the researcher to decrease discrimination from the research procedure. While analyzing quantitative data researcher observes various statistical values (Harris et al. 2015). Therefore, it can be discerned that the quantitative assessment will influence the investigator to conduct the research subject in potential manner. The researcher through this procedure asses the research area and evaluates the data. The investigator analyzes the data in effective manner by obtaining relevant information from administering surveys. In qualitative method, the procedures that are used to assess are in-depth interview procedure, observatory methods and document reviewing. The researcher in this stage scrutinizes both qualitative and quantitative research procedures so that he can gain proper research outcome. It is very important for the researcher to evaluate the data so that the research can gain feasibility. 8) Description of expected research outcome The research outcome indicates that there is lot information available on the research topic. Outcomes are a branch that indicates the final result or the outcome of the research procedure. It is applied to the population that is involved in the research and the outcome is assessed based on the qualitative research. The researcher uses exploratory research in interpreting the underlying rationale and opinions. Through proper investigation, the researcher has effectively analyzed the topic and come up with successful solution. Employee engagement in an organization plays pivotal role. The researcher has evaluated that employee engagement in an organization affects the productivity and performance level of the organization. The researcher through qualitative research has found out that needs satisfaction is the approach that the affects the employee engagement. The researcher has investigated that in modern day organization are aware of satisfaction of the employee and they are constan tly implementing new techniques to develop employee satisfaction. The researcher has assessed the data and has come up with the desired outcome. The researcher has been successful in assessing that poor employee engagement in an organization has influenced the performance of the organization. The impact of employee engagement in an organization is meticulously assessed through this research. The observation will largely help in executing the future projects. The research provides a overview on the market statistics about the research topic. With the effective involvement of respondent and participant, the researcher has been able to find out desired result of the research topic. It is evident from the outcome that the researcher has potently collected data on employee engagement and has provided an expected outcome. The level of employee engagement in different organization has been successfully assessed in this research. The researcher has been able to identify successfully the strengths and weaknesses of the research. Hence, it has been proved th at the researcher has successfully fulfilled all the criteria and supplied with an outcome that will be helpful for future researcher. Reference: Abraham, S., 2012. Race and Citizenship in the Early Republic

The USA has come though many different periods of time which are characterized by various situations and events. Still, it is possible to state that he problem of immigration has always been crucial for the country. The USA government has always tried to solve the problem of immigration and citizenship.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Race and Citizenship in the Early Republic specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The number of policies and acts which focus on this issue is one of the main ways US government tried to solve the problem. Naturalization Act of 1790 was one of the first documents which tried to regulate the process of immigration and citizenship by means of stating strong requirements and limitations on those who wanted to get US citizenship and get rid of the immigrant label. Generally, the situation was as follows, there were many immigrants and they wanted to struggle for their rights. The idea of citi zenship was the central. Therefore, the Naturalization Act of 1790 was necessary, but those who demanded for regulation of the procedure of the US citizenship could not imagine that the document was going to be too limited prejudiced. Before dwelling upon the Naturalization Act of 1790, it should be stated that the slavery was not abolished when the act was accepted, but it moved to the South more, leaving the North American black people more freedom. Thus, the Naturalization Act of 1790 was accepted with the purpose to regulate immigration and the procedure of the citizenship. Considering the document under discussion, it is important to say that it cannot be called the liberal one as a lot of restrictions and the cases of discrimination were noticed there. Thus, the citizenship could be got by any alien, being a free white person, who shall have resided within the limits and under the jurisdiction of the United States for the term of two years, may be admitted to become a citizen thereof, on application to any common law court of record, in any one of the States wherein he shall have resided for the term of one year at least, and making proof to the satisfaction of such court, that he is a person of good character, and taking the oath or affirmation prescribed by law, to support the Constitution of the United States.. (Naturalization Act n.p.) However, the main requirement was the belonging to the â€Å"white† race. Reading the document, it becomes obvious that it avoids gender discrimination. Thus, stating the word â€Å"person†, the document creators allow women to have the US citizenship. The point is rather strange as remembering the gender relations of that time, men were dominating even though the cases of business women took place.Advertising Looking for essay on history? Thus, those children who were born abroad could become the citizens of the USA only in case the father was the citizen of the county. Mothers could not give their children to grant the status of natural born citizen Therefore, it is possible to conclude that the main idea of the document was not to allow people to have citizenship in the USA it was directed more on the restrictions and imitations of the document. Thus, African-Americans and Asians were not allowed to have the USA citizenship as well as children who were born abroad but have mothers as the US citizens. So, even though women themselves were allowed to have a citizenship under some circumstances, the act comprised racial and gender discrimination aspects. Works Cited Naturalization Act. 1790. Web. Essay on World War I and Military Voters Act

Essay on World War I and Military Voters Act Essay on World War I and Military Voters Act Early in the war, Canada had experienced little difficulty in attracting sufficient numbers of new recruits to maintain the army in the field. Popular enthusiasm for what was expected to be a short but glorious war, high levels of unemployment at home, and a surplus of young single men all combined to create a rich environment for recruiting. Wages offered by military serving were generally attractive in a depressed economy. Among French Canadians recruiting was much less effective, due in no small part to ham fisted direction by Sam Hughes who had a long history of fanning anti-French, anti-Catholic sentiments for political gain.[1] Opposition to conscription did not mean opposition to the war. In the February 1917, there had been a very successful campaign by the Patriotic Fund in Quebec to donate one day’s pay. Both Le Devoir and La Presse had donated space to support the campaign in the spirit of what was described as â€Å"bonne ententism†, and almost 2/3 of t hose who subscribed were French Canadians. At the same time it had become increasingly clear that volunteers alone could no longer meet the demand for reinforcements for the Canadian Corps. By April recruiting had fallen to 5,530, increasing only slightly in May with the news of the Canadian victory at Vimy Ridge. In that same battle, almost twice that number had been killed or wounded. Borden who had been in Britain with other Commonwealth leaders returned from a visit to troops in France convinced that conscription was the only solution. Seeking to bolster support for conscription, Borden reached out to the opposition to form a union government. Laurier refused, fearing loss of his political base to Henri Bourassa, who led opposition to the war in Quebec. The Liberal party split over the issue with many liberals joining the union government to fight the election. In June, the Union government put forward legislation that would have enabled the government to conscript every male between 18 and 60. Opposition to conscription was not limited to Quebec. Many farmers opposed the measure arguing that they needed their sons at home if they were to meet the rising demand for agricultural production. Labour leaders supported the conscription of wealth arguing that burden of service should be shared by the wealthy as well as the working class. Still others opposed the war as a matter of conscience or saw the measure as an offense against Canadian democracy. Among visible minorities denied political equality there was also objection to being called to

Social Performance of Organizations (Apple) Essay

Social Performance of Organizations (Apple) - Essay Example The nature of the company, like many other companies, is that it has a mother company and other regional subsidiaries. All the products are identical irrespective of which subsidiary produces them. The organization structure is simplified depending on Apple Inc.’s regional distribution. Below the Apple Operations International are Apple Operations Europe, distribution retail holding and sales international. The structures below the operations are themselves very large. Critical decision-making that affect the entire Apple Inc are made at the top and directives communicated to subsidiaries as policies. Some of the services that Apple offers its customers include an online store from which customers can find many updated software and applications free of charge. Such free services give customers the confidence to consume the company’s products with the knowledge that there is always service beyond purchase. In regard to the organizations external environment, competition and product incompatibility with related technology are factors that may affect its success. Before Google launched and sold out android software, Apple Inc gave Google such a stiff competition in the market. Apple’s iPhones dominated the US market in a manner that was unprecedented. Although Microsoft also had Windows Phones in the Market, Apple still led the pack. However, Google’s launch of Smart Phone application at affordable price to other competitors soon weakened Apple’s grip on the market. In fact, Google had intended it to be so. By the year 2012, Apple Struggled to catch up with Samsung. That is because whereas Apple’s products are relatively expensive, Samsung came up with a strategy, which involved making cheap quality phones that targeted the wider Asian and African market majorly. Based on Android technology, such cheap phones appealed to a wider audience. Despite the fact that Apple may not be the leader in smartphone
